Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Ariel Liu is an aspiring pianist currently based in Los Angeles, California. Soon after discovering her musical talent in music, Ariel started her musical training in Taiwan at the age of four. As a solo pianist, she continues to gain musical experiences by participating in international music festivals in Asia, Europe, and the United States. She has performed in masterclasses with Krzysztof Jablonski, Boris Berman, and Antoinette Perry.
In 2020, Ariel was nominated as a winner of the annual Concerto Competition at Azusa Pacific University and anticipates to perform Ravel Piano Concerto in G Major with the APU Symphony in Spring 2022. She is also the Gold medalist in the 2021 Chopin Northwest Festival and the 2nd place in the 2021 Charleston International Winter Music Competition.
As a passionate chamber musician, Ariel has collaborated with other talented musicians and has performed at numerous chamber music concert series and recitals. In addition, she served as piano accompanist and teacher assistant at Azusa Pacific University.
Ariel graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Azusa Pacific University, under the tutelage of Dr. Andrew Park and the late Dr. Eugene Alcalay. She furthers her education by pursuing her Master of Music in Piano Performance at University of Southern California, under the tutelage of Professor Antoinette Perry.
